Epic Games have just released Cropout, a free sample for Unreal Engine developers showcasing how to create a casual style RTS game. The project is implemented entirely in Blueprints, requires the use of Unreal Engine 5.2.1 or higher and showcases how to use several new UE features to create a game that will run on a multitude of devices.
From the Unreal Engine Marketplace, Cropout is described as:
Cropout is a sample top-down Casual RTS game that demonstrates all the best practices for building a project designed for cross-platform release. From low-spec mobile devices to powerful gaming consoles and PCs, Cropout is set up to build once and then distribute everywhere. Cropout also demonstrates new engine features like Common UI, Enhanced Input, and Geometry Script.
With a family-friendly farming style, Cropout is suitable for beginners, educators, and anyone wanting to learn to create this genre of gameplay.
You will be able to spend hours digging into all the Blueprints, materials, VFX, characters, and more. We hope you enjoy!

Be sure to note that last line, this project is only for use with Unreal Engine products. It is however possible to use all of the assets in a commercial game as long as you are using Unreal Engine for development. It is also possible, even encouraged, to use these assets in a learning environment.
