Silo 2023 was just released by Nevercenter. First released all the way back in 2007, Silo is a subdivision surfaces based polygonal modelling tool ideal for creating low polygon count models. Unfortunately Nevercenter ceased Silo development for several years, allowing the project to languish with no new features or bug fixes. In 2021 however, regular updates began again, along side of the release of companion 3D viewer Milo.
With the recent 2022 and 2023 release, Milo has improved quite a bit, including major updates to the underlying core and a switch to use Pixar’s Subdivision surfaces library.
Features of the recent 2023 releases include:
Version 2023.1
- Added Array modifier
- Added Smooth modifier
- Added Reset to Default Material in the Material Editor
- Fixed Hide Unselected to also hide locked shapes
- Fixed display text color for locked objects in the Scene Editor
- Fixed normals not being updated after Combine Objects
Version 2023.0
